Hi! I’m Semmi— a UX/UI designer, writer, and data viz storyteller. I create editorial graphics, interactive experiences, and visual stories across multiple platforms.
I design interactive experiences and visual stories that connect technology, data, media, and culture. With a background in data visualization, UX/UI design, and editorial storytelling, I create interfaces and narratives that simplify complex ideas and enhance user engagement across platforms. I believe in the power of interactive storytelling — using vibrant graphics, intuitive human-centered design, and bold data visuals to make information more accessible, especially in the fields of science, technology, and breaking news.
My work has appeared in Essence, Revolt TV, Fuse TV, and more, alongside content branding and editorial roles at ABC News, VaynerMedia, and NPR. I earned my master’s degree from Columbia University’s Graduate School of Journalism, studied International Relations at the University of Toronto, and completed General Assembly’s Software Engineering Immersive specializing in front-end and mobile development. I’ve worked across New York, D.C., and London, helping brands and media outlets bring ideas to life with clarity and creativity.
