ABOUT ME

Hi! I’m Semmi, a Visual Journalist & Designer.
I create editorial graphics and data visualizations, producing interactive stories across multiple platforms.
Drawing on my background in UX/UI design and editorial storytelling. I create work that blends data with interactive visuals. My reporting focuses on translating complex ideas into clear, engaging formats; including infographics, data visualizations, interactive maps, and animated interfaces. I use human-centered design, bold graphics and visuals to make information more accessible across business, tech, culture, and breaking news.
I believe in the power of interactive storytelling. My work has appeared in Essence, Revolt TV, Fuse TV, and more, alongside content branding and editorial roles at ABC News, VaynerMedia, and NPR. I earned my master's degree from Columbia University's Graduate School of Journalism, studied International Relations at the University of Toronto, and completed General Assembly’s Software Engineering Immersive program, specializing in front-end and mobile development.
I’ve worked across New York, D.C., Bologna, and London, helping brands and media outlets bring ideas to life with clarity and creativity.
